Architecture · Landscape · Collaboration

Kirchberger & Wiegner Rohde approaches architectural design as embedded within the context of social, ecological, and spatial relationships. Through collaborative processes, our work integrates adaptable architecture and landscape spaces into enduring spatial systems that facilitate change and foster community.

Architecture shapes how people live, work, and interact with one another. This is why we regard every project as a contribution to an open, resilient, and sustainable future – both socially and ecologically.

We place a special emphasis on the integration of architecture and landscape. We do not view buildings as isolated entities, but rather as part of vital ecological and social systems. In this context, landscape is not merely a backdrop, but an integral part of the architecture itself.

Equally important to us is collaboration as a core method in developing architectural designs. We see planning as a shared process involving users, specialists, the public, and the client. Participation is not an afterthought, but an essential component ensuring architectural quality.

Our projects develop robust and flexible structures that enable long-term change, allowing users to play a significant role in shaping the design of spaces throughout a building’s lifespan. For us, sustainability is not only achieved through technical efficiency, but mainly through durability, adaptability, and social relevance.

Kirchberger & Wiegner Rohde designs architecture as social infrastructure – forming precise, landscape-oriented, and collaborative spaces.
