The new residence is oriented toward a semi-public garden, with a spatial structure based on addition and porosity. A modular system of interior and exterior spaces creates an introspective building that responds both to the typology of an embassy residence and the local climate. The design generates diverse, greened spatial sequences and allows future adaptability through variability and expandability.
After the security check, residents and guests are immediately welcomed by a view into the garden. Reception areas on the garden level are directly linked to the outdoors, enabling flexible formats between inside and outside. The private quarters are grouped around a planted patio, offering the ambassador and family a secluded retreat that still opens generously to the garden. Perforated brickwork and operable shutters provide both privacy and filtered views.
An additive skeleton construction minimizes material use and ensures long-term flexibility. Interior and exterior walls act as infill, while floor slabs can be removed or added. Components are designed for clean separation and reuse, with individual elements replaceable according to their lifespan.
The structure consists of a steel skeleton with prestressed concrete hollow-core slabs. Non-load-bearing walls are built from clay bricks made of on-site excavation soil. Clay screeds and plasters finish the interiors, ensuring a healthy indoor climate.
